That’s why we at Obsidian Luxury Services have mapped out three geographically friendly Paso Robles wine tours for your convenience and pleasure. Read along and hopefully we can inspire you to experience new venues and vines!
West Paso Robles:
Opolo offers wood fired pizza that is heated to perfection! With their Mountain Zin, a cheese pizza and the vineyard views, you’ll be sure to be in heaven. With multiple vineyard sites in East and West Paso, Opolo masters in Bordeaux varietals, however there are many to suit your groups’ unique preferences.
How does a day sipping wine in a castle sound to you? Fortunately, you don’t have to travel to your favorite French chateau, today! Experience the life of luxury at Tooth & Nail with a glass of your newfound favorite Merlot. Take in the rolling Paso Robles views, take photos near the moat (yes, we’re serious!), or stroll through the castle grounds, as the King and Queen you are.
Awarded with “The Best View in Paso,” you’re sure to be in awe. We recommend this winery for a more luxurious excursion. Buy a bottle of Rosé, take a seat on the highest point of Paso Robles, and enjoy the views. P.S. DAOU Vineyards offers a delicious charcuterie board to pair perfectly with your wine.
The masters of reds, abundant history of their land, and the most environmentally-forward winery on the Central Coast. There is much to taste and learn at Halter Ranch, and if you’re feeling even more adventurous, be sure to schedule a Jeep tour of their property to see their expansive vineyard rows and open land for conservation.
East Paso Robles:
Sculptures, vines, and wine – oh my!! Affordable tasting fee, plentiful wines to savor, and beautiful landscape to traverse will keep you returning for more.
An extensive lunch menu, including the famous “Best Burger in Paso Robles” and a beautiful charcuterie plate will leave you and your guests full and happy. Add a glass of wine and you’ll be ecstatic. As more of an eatery, you are welcome (and encouraged) to include a wine tasting with your meal– now that’s what we like to call wine & dine!
Known for the tasting room’s character, and bold statement of a Zinfandel, you’ll leave with at least four bottles in arms. Did we mention the tastings are free? A truly family oriented winery, your overall experience is bound to be beyond your wildest dreams.
Templeton:
You will find a castle in West Paso, but what can you find in Templeton? Enter, a vintage train car. At Pomar Junction, you can sip your bold red wine in a trendy, yet comfortable train! Taste their Fiesta blend and take a stroll through their rolling vineyards.
If you’re a Cabernet fan, you must visit Hansen Winery. With a flight of strictly cabs, you will taste Ideally balanced, and never too bitter grapes. The tasting experience will be an intimate one-on-one with the owner and winemaker, who will upfront tell you — if you don’t like Cabs, you won’t like their wine. But don’t worry - if you do like Cabs, we’ve found your heaven.
Listen to genuine family stories and the history of the winery once you skip across the two-lane road to Sarzotti. Feeling a bit hungry after wine? This family-owned winery offers crackers, cheese, and a scrumptious pesto to kick your craving. Travel back in time to the origins of Sarzotti Vineyard while almost getting lost in their Petite Syrah.
